To commemorate the 31st World Hakka Conference to be held in Canada in 2022, the Hakka Canadian Association is offering a scholarship to students to encourage them in the pursuit of their educational goals. The scholarship is a one-time offer to five (5) undergraduate or high school students in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000) each.
High school and undergraduate students who are studying full time in any Canadian high schools, universities, or colleges are eligible to apply. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or residents of Hakka heritage.

Write a short essay in 300 words in English on one of the following topics:a. your ideas of promoting Hakka culture; b. your experience in learning Hakka culture; c. your perspective of being a Hakka in modern days.

Applications are recommended by a Hakka association.
Submissions may include additional information or documentation that you feel will enhance your application.
Deadline of Application Submission February 28th, 2022
All applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Selection Panel according to their essay, their academic achievement, community services experience and personal accomplishments.
The independent Scholarship Selection Panel, consisting of academics and professional experts, will finish the selection process within a month after the deadline of application submission.
Successful applicants will be notified by April 15th, 2022. Winners of the scholarship are required to attend the 31st World Hakka Conference on June 25th, 2022, to accept the award.
